He then passed the baton to the excellent Joe Johnston for part three. Colin Trevorrow was tasked with bringing the franchise back years later, and made two films in a trilogy, with J.A. Bayona sandwiched in the middle. The most recent film, Jurassic World Rebirth, was exactly that. A rebirth of the Jurassic franchise, and it came to us from a director who knows a thing or two about giant creatures: Godzilla director Gareth Edwards. Edwards was expected to return for the inevitable sequel but, alas, now he’s out. So who will replace him? In reality, we have no idea.
