3D Printing A Usable Airless Tire
For decades, companies have been developing airless tires that use a polymer mesh to maintain pressure on the travel surface. A maker, Berm Peak, experimented with 3D printing airless tires for his mountain bike to avoid punctures and flats. The project resulted in a surprisingly capable tire that mostly held up to extreme off-road testing, although the problem of punctures has already been solved with sealant-filled tires.
