That's quadruply true when it comes to using them for election prediction, because the outcomes are binary—either you win, or you lose—and pollsters are terrible at coming up with a sample that reflects who will show up at the polls, which is the only thing that matters when it comes to predicting election outcomes. You can at least throw them into the pile of unreliable data and try to discern something close to reality when it comes to public opinion.
