In the decade between Revenge of the Sith and The Force Awakens, Star Wars was weird. George Lucas didn’t want to make any more movies, so he explored bringing a galaxy far, far away to television. Most of that never got very far. But one show, called Star Wars: Detours, actually completed several dozen episodes before being almost totally forgotten. First announced in 2012, Star Wars: Detours was going to be The Simpsons but Star Wars. Lucas himself was involved in the show, which was co-created by the Robot Chicken team of Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. However, when Disney bought Lucasfilm, seeing Luke Skywalker and Han Solo be goofy didn’t quite fit in with the brand, so it was shelved indefinitely.
