Bindyarani lifted a total of 199KG, which was enough to seal a place on the podium for her ahead of the Englishwoman Elizia Pratt (196 KG), who finished fourth. The 27-year-old lifted 87 KG in the snatch and 112 KG in the clean and jerk. The gold medal was won by Nigeria's Rafiatu Lawal with a lift of 229 KG, which is a games record. Infact, both her snatch lift of 103 KG and clean and jerk lift of 129 KG are the best in the history of the CWG in this category.
