Bitcoin options are coming to Nadaq. Here's what it means for you.
Nasdaq is set to offer cash-settled Bitcoin options under the ticker QBTC, pending CFTC approval. These options aim to simplify crypto risk management for investors by allowing trading on the same platform as major stocks. Each contract represents exposure to one Bitcoin, making it more accessible for smaller institutions and retail investors.
- ▪The SEC has conditionally approved Nasdaq PHLX to list Bitcoin index options under the ticker QBTC.
- ▪QBTC options will be cash-settled and track the CME CF Bitcoin Real Time Index.
- ▪Each QBTC contract represents exposure to 1 Bitcoin, making it more accessible than CME's 5-bitcoin contracts.
