Chennai Metro Rail plans two more corridors—Kilambakkam to Chengalpattu, Assisi Nagar to Wimco Nagar
The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) will look at the feasibility of building two more corridors — Kilambakkam to Chengalpattu and Assisi Nagar to Wimco Nagar.The phase I network’s corridor from Wimco Nagar to Chennai Airport will be further extended with this new proposal. As such, the CMRL has planned a southern expansion of this corridor and prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for the 15.46-km stretch from Chennai Airport to Kilambakkam, as it links the new bus terminus. Both these networks are now connected through stations such as Alandur, Kilpauk, Thousand Lights, Nandanam, Koyambedu, and Vadapalani.
