The Greater Chennai City Police (GCTP) has also decided to step up surveillance as the summer holidays, a period when minors are more likely to take vehicles on to the city roads, have begun.In an incident on March 7, a minor riding a motorcycle on Velachery 100 Feet Road near Murugan Kalyana Mandapam hit a 58-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the road. The victim sustained grievous injuries and later died at the hospital. The rider also suffered serious injuries.Following this, a case was registered and a probe launched by the Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing.
