Vizianagaram District Education Officer U. Manikyam Naidu on Sunday said that government schoolchildren are second to none and their decent performance in the Class 10th examinations proved it. On behalf of Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi-Vizianagaram, city president Karrothu Satyam gave away cash prizes to 15 meritorious students who got the highest marks in the Class 10th exams. Mr. Satyam hoped that this would lead to a huge demand for seats in government schools.Speaking to media, Mr. Satyam who is also a retired headmaster, said that the association would continue to support meritorious students of Class 10 and intermediate courses. The association general secretary Majji Kanta Rao, members Sonthi Kameswara Rao, Boda Gopalam,, Chekka Radhakrishna Murthy and others were present.
