The crab I first met Malcolm’s crab when I joined him at the End of the Road festival campsite in September 2026. It was definitely red. He had made it in his cellar in Cawsand over a few weeks that summer: newspaper and paste over a frame, a metre from claw to claw, painted the pillar-box red of a crab in a children’s book.
