ENCORE: Amikacin Called Safe, Effective for MAC Lung Disease
The phase 3b ENCORE study has shown that Amikacin liposome inhalation suspension (ALIS) is effective for treating treatment-naive patients with Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) lung disease. The study demonstrated significant improvements in patient-reported symptoms and culture conversion rates when ALIS was used in combination with azithromycin and ethambutol.
