EU moderation watchdog says social media giants hate taking down hate speech
The EU's moderation watchdog has reported that major social media platforms often fail to remove hate speech while also not providing sufficient evidence for account bans. The Appeals Centre Europe found that it overturned platforms' decisions not to remove hate speech 70% of the time in the past year. Despite the existence of an independent review process, platforms frequently do not comply with requests for content needed to review cases.
