Even Google Search agrees that ‘Googlebook’ wasn’t a very good name choice
That was my personal first takeaway from this new platform, and it seems even Google Search supports the idea that Google should have used something else, as you can’t actually search for “Googlebook” without getting redirected elsewhere. “Googlebook” is the name of Google’s new Android-based laptop platform, while “Google Books” is the company’s long-running index of books. As pointed out by The Verge late last week, searching for “Googlebooks” on Google Search currently directs to a “Did you mean?” search for “Google Books.” You have to then manually click a link to actually search for Googlebook laptops.
