The Krishnagiri Reservoir Project (KRP) Dam touched 50.05 ft. of its total 52 ft. storage capacity on Tuesday night (May 26, 2026). The inflow into the reservoir was at 484 cusecs and the outflow 183 cusecs. Earlier, the district administration had issued a flood alert for the low-lying areas along Thenpennai River up to Sathanur dam in the wake of the inflow touching 744 cusecs late Tuesday night. In view of the reservoir’s safety, the entire inflow was released in the river.On Wednesday (May 27, 2026), the district received heavy rain forecast and received an average rainfall of 8.23 mm as of Wednesday morning.Heavy winds wreaked havoc to crops and houses in three villages in Mathur.
