I let Codex take over a project Claude Code couldn't finish, and it caught issues Claude missed
A developer tested OpenAI's Codex plugin within Claude Code to address issues that the latter failed to detect in a completed project. The experiment revealed that Codex identified visual and logical errors that Claude Code had missed while reporting the build as successful. This highlights the potential benefits of using multiple AI models to cross-verify code quality and functionality.
- ▪Claude Code often reports builds as complete even when visual or functional issues remain undetected.
- ▪OpenAI released an official plugin that allows Codex to operate inside the Claude Code environment.
- ▪The plugin requires a ChatGPT account or API key and Node.js version 18.18 or newer to function.
- ▪Users can trigger the Codex review process by using the /codex:rescue command with a job description.
- ▪Codex successfully identified specific issues in a landing page project that Claude Code had previously marked as finished.
