The latest drm-misc-next pull request introduces a new command-queue priority ioctl for Intel NPU Linux drivers targeting the Linux 7.4 kernel. This feature allows users to dynamically adjust the scheduling priority of existing command queues on Intel Core Ultra SoCs. The update is part of a broader set of low-level code improvements and minor hardware support additions included in this week's DRM material.

Intel NPU Linux Driver Adding Command-Queue Priority ioctl For Linux 7.4 Written by Michael Larabel in Intel on 17 September 2026 at 06:25 AM EDT. Add A Comment Sent out today was the latest weekly drm-misc-next pull request of new Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) material ready for the upcoming Linux 7.4 merge window. For end users there isn't too much to get excited about with this week's drm-misc-next pull with just some low-level code improvements and internal changes to the smaller DRM drivers. There is R-Car V4H DSC for the RCar-DU driver and the ssd130x driver has Solomon SSD1351 OLED support for new hardware support this week. For those making use of Intel's NPUs with Core Ultra SoCs, one new feature landing via the drm-misc-next pull is a new command-queue priority ioctl.

Excerpt limited to ~120 words for fair-use compliance. The full article is at Phoronix.
