Is FiberFS an AI Project?
Reza Naghibi - July 27th 2026 So this isn’t a blog post I was expecting to write as one of my first pieces for FiberFS. I was expecting to deep dive into technical aspects of filesystems, caching, and other mundane topics. However, I do get the sense that we are entering a new era of software development.

An era where what was previously not possible is now possible, for better or worse. If it isn’t obvious, I’m talking about the era of AI. So is FiberFS an AI project? No, it’s not. It’s 100% human written and human powered and will remain this way for as long as possible. However, FiberFS is a project that will fully utilize AI where appropriate. So in this sense, maybe we can call FiberFS a human powered and AI assisted project.
