Linux 7.4 To Mainline Support For The Google Tensor G5, Pixel 10 Devices
Linux 7.4 will include mainline support for the Google Tensor G5 SoC and Pixel 10 series devices. A recent pull request introduces a new ARCH_GOOGLE symbol to distinguish the G5 from previous Samsung-derived chips. This update enables basic kernel support for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL models.
- ▪The Linux 7.4 kernel cycle will mainline support for the Google Tensor G5 SoC and Pixel 10 devices.
- ▪A new ARCH_GOOGLE architecture symbol has been introduced because the Tensor G5 lacks commonality with previous Samsung-based SoCs.
- ▪The initial device tree files support three variants: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.
- ▪The Tensor G5 SoC features a mix of Cortex-X4, Cortex-A725, and Cortex-A520 cores along with an Imagination PowerVR GPU.
- ▪The chip supports LPDDR5X memory and includes a 4th Generation TPU for AI processing.

Linux 7.4 To Mainline Support For The Google Tensor G5, Pixel 10 Devices Written by Michael Larabel in Google on 5 October 2026 at 07:33 AM EDT. Add A Comment Going back to last year have been patches for booting the mainline Linux kernel on Pixel 10 devices while finally those Google Pixel 10 Device Trees and Tensor G5 SoC support is set to be mainlined for Linux 7.4. Sent out today was the pull request for the SoC tree for introducing "ARCH_GOOGLE" and introducing the Tensor G5 SoC family and the initial Device Tree files for the Google Pixel 10 (Frankel / Blazer / Mustang) devices. The pull request elaborated: "Introduce new ARCH_GOOGLE for the Google Tensor G5 (Laguna) family of SoCs.
