Man from Sathya Sai district sentenced to 25 years RI in POCSO case

The Special POCSO Court in Anantapur sentenced a 27-year-old man to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in Sri Sathya Sai district. The court also imposed a fine of ₹5,000 and directed the State government to pay ₹5 lakh as compensation to the victim.The court delivered the verdict on Friday (July 24, 2026) after finding M. Raju, a resident of NGO Colony in Kadiri town of Sri Sathya Sai district, guilty under Section 376 of the IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act.Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar said that the accused sexually assaulted his wife’s minor daughter from her first marriage. Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, the Kadiri Town police registered a case and filed a chargesheet after completing the investigation.
