The monsoon activity in Andhra Pradesh has remained subdued thus far, with 17 out of the 28 districts reporting deficient rainfall between June 1 and June 14. The Southwest Monsoon arrived in the State on June 6 and is expected to cover the remaining parts of the State in the next three days. However, many districts continue to experience intense heat due to the active El Nino conditions.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) - Amaravati has forecast light showers in isolated areas (one or two places) in three regions of South Coastal A.P. (SCAP) and Rayalaseema for the next week. A few areas in the North Coastal A.P. region may also receive light showers.
