More brick structures, important features unearthed at Keeladi archaeological site in Tamil Nadu
In the 11th phase of excavations currently underway in Keeladi, continuous brick structures and over 1,300 artefacts have been discovered.The Tamil Nadu State Department of Archaeology (TNSDA) is conducting the 11th phase of excavation at the Keeladi archaeological site, located near Madurai in Sivagangai district. While the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) conducted the first three phases, subsequent phases have been carried out by the TNSDA.This 11th phase of excavation began on March 18 of this year, south of the area where the on-site museum is located. A total of nine quadrants were dug in this area.
