New obesity drug from Lilly delivers major weight loss
Lilly said that a once-weekly injection of retatrutide met the primary endpoint in a Phase 3 clinical trial, as well as key secondary end points for obesity, delivering clinically meaningful weight loss. The highest dose of retatrutide helped patients lose 28.3 percent of their weight from baseline— or 70.3 pounds — on average over 80 weeks, compared with 2.2 percent with placebo. The results evaluated only the patients who stayed on the drug.
