It’s a good question, but here’s a better one: why don’t we already know the answer? In a new report, we find NVIDIA, a beneficiary of the AI boom, has seen its supply chain emissions grow 725% since 2020. But we also find that the emissions from the use of its products isn’t disclosed; despite the company supplying potential carbon bomb sites (like the biggest proposed gas plant on the planet). With that in mind, we produced our own conservative estimate, finding that the climate impact from 2025’s use of NVIDIA’S AI products is on par with the state-owned Russian Coal company.
