Orange Pi ships an Android image that can't boot on its most expensive Zero 3W, and I found out why
My Bachelor’s thesis was conducted on the viability of benchmarking the non-functional elements of Android apps and smartphones such as performance, and I’ve been working in the tech industry in some way or another since 2017. In my spare time, you’ll probably find me playing Counter-Strike or VALORANT, and you can reach out to me at [email protected], on Twitter as @AdamConwayIE, on Instagram as AdamConwayIE, or u/AdamConwayIE on Reddit. There's a catch with that hardware, though: Orange Pi's Linux images don't ship the userspace needed to talk to most of the hardware, so both the GPU and the video engine sit idle while offloading all of it to the CPU instead.
