Plans afoot to renovate Srirangam Govt. Hospital
The Health Deparment has proposed to build a new hospital to replace the existing infrastructure at the Government Hospital in Srirangam.Started as a small dispensary in 1873 during the erstwhile British rule, the hospital has grown into the status of taluk hospital. The public healthcare facility, on Gandhi Road, in front of the new bus terminal in Srirangam, gets 750 outpatients daily and up to 120 inpatients on an average. It functions on about 3 acres of land belonging to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department.
