The Vriddhachalam police seized 5 kg of ganja smuggled by train and arrested four persons, including a juvenile in this connection, near the Vriddhachalam railway station on Sunday night.Following a tip-off, a team was conducting checks near the railway station when they noticed the suspects, Balamurugan, 33, Veeramuthu, 25, Sivasakthivel, 21 and a juvenile, with a bag. Police said on checking the bag they found five bundles of ganja in them.Initial inquiry revealed the accused had bought ganja from drug peddlers in Odisha to sell in retail to individuals in Cuddalore district. The trio was arrested while the juvenile was sent to a Government Observation Home. A case has been registered.
