The walk will begin at 7 a.m. at Porcupine Creek in Nashua at the western edge of the Fort Peck Reservation. It is schedule to end at Big Muddy Creek, east of Brockton. According to a press release from the department, all are welcome to join the nonstop walk and caravan.

News Posted on July 23, 2026 Posted on July 23, 2026 Repatriation Walk Scheduled By James Walling The Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes Cultural Preservation Department, staffed by Tribal Historic Preservation Officers, is hosting a Carlisle Boarding School Repatriation Awareness Walk July 31 to mark the return of the remains of Christine Redstone, Peter Howe and Richard Morgan to the reservation. The walk will begin at 7 a.m. at Porcupine Creek in Nashua at the western edge of the Fort Peck Reservation. It is schedule to end at Big Muddy Creek, east of Brockton. According to a press release from the department, all are welcome to join the nonstop walk and caravan. A flat bed be available to hold small children and elders.
