After a section of residents in Palavakkam and Neelankarai staged a protest complaining about low voltage and power disruptions on Monday night, senior officials of the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) pacified the crowd and installed an additional transformer on Tuesday. M. Santosh, a resident of Pandian Street of Palavakkam, said the thickly populated residential area has been experiencing power fluctuations in the day time as well as night time. A senior official of the electricity department said the power disruption in a pocket of the locality was caused by the overloading of the distribution transformer installed on Pandian Street of the Neelankarai Link Road.
