Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the Irrigation department officials to take steps for effective maintenance of major and minor projects in view of the onset of monsoon.He made it mandatory for the Irrigation engineers concerned to stay in the vicinity of the projects and not leave the project sites without permission of higher authorities. He directed the Irrigation Secretary to take action against the engineers who leave the project sites without prior intimation. At the same time, he directed the Finance department to release necessary funds for repairs of project gates and other maintenance works without any delay.The Agriculture department officials were directed to be fully prepared in view of the monsoon and focus on the distribution of seeds and fertilizers.
