Senate advances stalled immigration enforcement funding bill

The uproar over the anti-weaponization fund, which was intended as a legal defense fund for people who felt they had been unfairly targeted by the Biden Department of Justice, had stalled the bill for two weeks until acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Tuesday the administration would not pursue the proposal. But some senators, including Republicans, remain skeptical, and want to use the amendment process on the immigration enforcement bill to make sure that the fund is dead for good.
