Six people were killed and eight others injured after a private bus rammed a van carrying a group of women travelling for a social function, in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district on Wednesday (April 29, 2026), police said.The accident occurred on the National Highway 48, connecting Shamlaji and Himmatnagar, when the speeding bus rammed the van from behind.The victims were part of a catering team and were on their way from Modasa in neighbouring Aravalli district to Hunj village near Himmatnagar, according to the police. Six women travelling in the van died in the crash, officials confirmed.Six other women, along with a man and the van driver, sustained injuries.
