The Independent’s Pride list of LGBTQ+ changemakers to return for June
The Independent is relaunching its annual Pride List in June 2026 to celebrate influential LGBTQ+ changemakers across the UK. In partnership with Pride in London, the initiative includes a public event, video interviews, and editorial coverage highlighting LGBTQ+ voices and issues. The publication will also march in the London Pride parade and produce a documentary on LGBTQ+ persecution in Nigeria. This effort is part of The Independent’s ongoing commitment to LGBTQ+ visibility and advocacy.
- ▪The Independent’s Pride List, first launched in 2000 as the Pink List, returns on 31 May 2026.
- ▪The 2026 honourees will be celebrated at an event on 3 June at Queer Britain, the UK’s only LGBTQ+ museum.
- ▪The Independent is partnering with Pride in London and will march in the July parade to promote LGBTQ+ visibility.
- ▪A new documentary by The Independent’s Bel Trew will explore LGBTQ+ persecution and the impact of foreign aid cuts on people living with HIV in Nigeria.
- ▪The publication has also partnered with the7stars for AdLand Pride and will sponsor the NDA Media Pride Lunch in October.
