Sadly, it is not a trailer for the mythical third X-Files movie, but rather a director's cut of 2008's X-Files: I Want to Believe. The film's slightly modified title, The X-Files: I Want to Believe – Vrach Frankenshteyn (Doctor Frankenstein in Russian), is a nod to the different tone in this version. Director Chris Carter wanted to make an R-rated horror movie, but entire scenes were rumored to have been cut from the original film to obtain the PG-13 rating required by the studio.
