A 23-year-old youth was arrested by the Erode Taluk police on Monday (April 27, 2026) for allegedly hurling a molotov cocktail in front of his grandmother’s house following a dispute over money.The accused was identified as R. Gokul, a native of Poolampatti in Edappadi taluk of Salem district. He had reportedly been staying intermittently at his grandmother Ramayi’s house in MGR Nagar, Karumbarai, in 46 Pudur panchayat, and had the habit of demanding money from her.According to the police, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on April 26, when Gokul allegedly picked a quarrel with his grandmother and, in an attempt to intimidate her, hurled a petrol-filled bottle after setting it on fire.
