1. Who we are
WeSearch is an API gateway and consumer hub that routes your calls to upstream providers (Open-Meteo, Hacker News RSS, NewsAPI, Tenor, OpenAI, etc.). Your relationship with those providers is yours; ours with you is governed by this document.
2. Your account
You can use WeSearch anonymously. When you sign up, we assign a random key and a derived display handle ("Plain Loom 638"). You're responsible for whatever you do with that key. If it leaks, regenerate it.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use WeSearch to:
- Scrape sites that have asked not to be scraped (we honour
robots.txtonweb.fetch/web.extract; you should too). - Impersonate real people in comments or reactions.
- Redistribute our routed responses in a way that would violate the upstream provider's TOS.
- Spam, harass, or post unlawful content.
- Try to defeat spend caps or auth controls.
4. Spend caps + billing
Spend caps are a feature, not a guideline. We enforce them pre- and post-call and suspend keys that cross. If we suspend you in error, contact us and we'll restore.
If you're on a paid plan, you pay monthly. Cancel anytime; we don't bill the next cycle.
5. User-generated content (comments, reactions)
You own what you post. By posting through WeSearch you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it inside the hub, the Pulse tab, and via the /v1/comments API. You can delete your own comments at any time; we soft-delete (the row is marked hidden but kept so reply chains don't break).
We may remove content that violates section 3. We don't moderate proactively; reports go to the address in section 11.
6. The API
The WeSearch API is provided as-is. Upstream providers may have outages, rate limits, or change behaviour. WeSearch's job is to route around them; sometimes we can't. Trust scores and provider failover are best-effort. SLA-grade reliability is on the Scale plan; everything else is best-effort.
7. BYOK resources
Some resources (ai.complete, web.extract-schema, gif.search when you bring a Tenor key) require you to supply your own credentials. Those credentials pass through WeSearch to the upstream provider; we don't store them on the server. Don't share keys you don't own.
8. Termination
You can stop using WeSearch any time. We can suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, with notice when reasonable.
9. No warranty, limited liability
To the extent permitted by law, WeSearch and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use. Aggregate liability is capped at fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes get announced on the homepage. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
