A druid was part of the learned and priestly class in ancient Celtic societies (Gaul, Britain, Ireland) during the Iron Age. They served as spiritual leaders, judges, healers, astronomers, and political advisors. They were seen as wise people or "knowers of the oak," guardians of oral tradition, and deeply connected to nature.
