Compact Calendar Display Reduces Phone Dependency
Paul Lagier created a compact desktop display using an ESP32-based Waveshare board to reduce phone dependency by showing calendar information in 15-minute blocks. The device uses a 3D-printed housing with a light-diffusing grid to improve the appearance of the 8×8 RGB LED matrix and changes displays based on orientation. It connects wirelessly to access calendar data and includes features like scrolling event text, ambient mode, and pairing mode for setup.
