Cowboys Targeted Pro Bowl LB Before Trading for Dee Winters
The Dallas Cowboys sought to strengthen their defense by pursuing Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair before ultimately trading for San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dee Winters. Al-Shaair, a veteran with strong on-field and community credentials, signed a three-year, $54 million extension with the Texans. The Cowboys also bolstered their defense through the draft and other acquisitions, including Pro Bowl edge-rusher Rashawn Gary.
