Former MP Rory Amon to face retrial over child rape and assault charge
Former Pittwater MP Rory Amon will face a retrial over charges of sexual intercourse without consent and indecent assault involving a 13-year-old boy in 2017. The retrial follows a previous trial in March 2026 where the jury deadlocked on two counts, while Amon was acquitted of eight other child sexual abuse charges. Amon, who pleaded not guilty and is on bail, resigned from parliament in August 2024 after being charged.
