Taking a Waymo ensures that you can’t get stuck with a human driver’s choice of air freshener or talk radio, but a new report from an independent safety lab suggests it will also greatly reduce your risk of getting in a non-trivial accident.The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) found that compared with human drivers in the same areas, driverless Waymo vehicles had 68% fewer crashes serious enough to report to police, and of those, only 11% could plausibly be blamed on those autonomous vehicles.
