National Academy of Sciences elects six Berkeley researchers to its ranks
Six UC Berkeley faculty members have been elected to the National Academy of Sciences, one of the highest honors in American science, recognizing their distinguished research contributions. The newly elected include prominent scholars in fields ranging from machine learning and demography to physics and economics. Membership in the academy brings the total number of active members to 2,705, with Berkeley now home to over 135 living members.
