New video shows correspondents' dinner suspect shooting officer, top prosecutor says
Newly released video shows suspect Cole Tomas Allen allegedly shooting a Secret Service officer during an attack at the Washington Hilton hotel ahead of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, according to federal prosecutors. The footage, shared by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, depicts Allen sprinting through a security checkpoint with a shotgun and casing the area the day before the incident. Authorities say the shooting was not friendly fire and that Allen, charged with attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump, remains in custody without a plea.
