President Donald Trump is positioned to ask the Supreme Court to toss a New York jury’s 2024 verdict that found him liable for defaming writer E. Jean Carroll by disputing her accusation of sexual abuse. On Wednesday, a federal appeals court declined Trump’s request to rehear his appeal of the $83 million defamation case “en banc,” or by the full bench of judges.
