Two men sentenced to life for attempting to murder woman in Udupi

An Udupi court on Thursday sentenced two men to life imprisonment for attempting to murder a woman in Manchi Kumeri in Udupi taluk in February 2022.Principal District and Sessions Judge Kiran S. Gagannavar sentenced Mithun and Nagesh Poojary to life for the offences punishable under Sections 449 (house trespass) and 307 (attempt to murder), read with Section 34 of Indian Penal Code. They were asked to pay a fine of ₹10,000 for each of two offences. In default of payment of fine, they shall undergo further simple imprisonment for one year.
