UK defence firm Ultra Electronics to pay £15m after SFO bribery investigation
UK defence company Ultra Electronics has agreed to pay £15m in penalties and investigation costs after admitting failure to prevent bribery in public sector contracts in Algeria and Oman, under a deferred prosecution agreement approved by the High Court. The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) investigation, launched in 2018, marks a rare corporate bribery enforcement success for the agency following a series of failed high-profile cases. Ultra Electronics will also implement reforms and submit annual compliance reports for the next three years.
