US charges Sinaloa governor and other Mexican officials with drug trafficking offences
The US justice department has charged Sinaloa's governor, Rubén Rocha Moya, and nine other current or former Mexican officials with drug trafficking and related offenses, alleging ties to the Sinaloa cartel. The indictment accuses the officials of facilitating the importation of narcotics into the United States and benefiting from cartel support during elections.
