This experimental flavor of Wine is presently carrying 273 extra patches over that upstream Git state, including some new patches for helping enhance the WoW64 support. Wine-Staging 11.18 includes some new WoW64 patches to check the binary before setting the WoW64 entry as well as for not writing WoW64 for 64-bit binaries. Wine WoW64 as a reminder is the means of running 32-bit Windows applications inside a pure 64-bit environment. One of the fixes with these latest WoW64 patches in staging is for this bug from 2019 around the kernel services code.
