The latter drew a lot of backlash from fans, expressing their outrage over her release.Sane was part of the Kabuki Warriors tag team alongside Asuka, and they'd recently been featured in battles with prominent tag teams, including Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, as well as Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.Sane and Asuka had also mentioned being on standby to potentially participate in the Women's Tag Team Championship Fatal Four-Way match at WrestleMania 42 if Brie Bella was unable to work the match alongside returning WWE star Paige. However, Paige and Bella participated and won the match.Read more: Full WWE Releases List Includes Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, and Wyatt Sicks...Meanwhile, fans have rallied in support of Sane, urging the company to bring her back, much like they did after R-Truth's surprising release in June 2025. Fans let WWE know they were frustrated, and Truth was soon signed to a new contract to continue working with the company. On Monday's episode of "Raw," Sane's former tag team partner, Asuka, showed up to attack Iyo Sky. During parts of Sky's match, the crowd loudly chanted for Kairi Sane. After Asuka attacked Sky, Paul "Triple H" Levesque announced that the two stars would meet in a match at next month's WWE Backlash. However, that social media post on X drew plenty of critical comments telling HHH to bring back Sane.View this post on X"So we are just going to act like Kairi wasn't the main reason this even started? #wewantkairi," one fan commented."there's a whole third person missing from this brother #WeWantKairi," another wrote.Someone commented, "So, we're just supposed to pretend like Kairi never existed? #WeWantKairi."Others wrote, "Shame on you for never giving us Asuka vs Kairi," and "Kairi turning on Asuka was the whole point you bald fraud."Asuka vs. Iyo Sky seems to be a marquee match, but it's understandable why fans are upset. Sane was part of a potentially big storyline involving a Kabuki Warriors split that also would've made for an entertaining storyline and series of matches. The recent WWE releases occurred soon after WrestleMania 42, as TKO looked to cut costs. It's an annual event that typically brings devastating news about specific superstars the company has released. This past week's releases included multiple individuals who had held championships during their tenure. While with WWE, Sane captured the NXT Women's Championship once and the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship three times with Asuka. It should be interesting to see if WWE responds to fans rallying for Kairi Sane in the same way they did with R-Truth, or if they have fully decided to move on from Sane for now. If it's the latter, she'll definitely have more than a few other wrestling organizations interested in having her on their rosters.More news: Drew McIntyre Calls Out Fans’ Behavior Towards WWE Stars at WrestleManiaFor more about WWE and professional wrestling, visit Newsweek Sports.Request Reprint & LicensingSubmit CorrectionView Editorial & AI GuidelinesRelated…
