Functionaries of the students’ union at the University of Calicut (CU) on Tuesday (April 28) evening staged a protest outside the office of the Controller of Examinations on the main campus at Tenhipalam in Malappuram district against the plan to start fourth-semester exams for undergraduate students on May 7.The union functionaries, led by P.K. Shifana, chairperson, locked the office around 4 p.m. and prevented the staff from going out. Though police personnel were called in, the students did not open the door and stuck to their demand that the exam dates be rescheduled.
